"Many of the Frank's forms are containers - the iconic form of the house, a small pod, a vase-like structure. These refer to a positive sense of containment - security and safety, a holding, rather than the negative sense - of restriction. All of these forms speak to a kind of softness and comfort antithetical to the material with which they are made. It's significant that many of the small pieces were scaled down, rather than the more typical process of scaling up. The question that pushed the size of the forms was: how small can an object get, and still maintain its power?"
